It's that time of year again when every other weekend is given over to training groups for the annual Ten Tors event (link opposite)
A bright and cool weekend made for a gentle introduction to Dartmoor for the teams who havn't done the event before and a good start to the navigation, teamskills and campcraft training.
My 35 mile team had a cracking day. This was taken as they approached Higher Hartor
This was taken a bit later on from Gutter Tor at about the halfway point.
Got a good run in by keeping ahead of them and checkpointing. Spook was much taken by the squaddies doing an exercise on the top of the tor.
wonder what he was thinking?
