Dire Met Office warnings of Arctic conditions, as usual, came to nothing but a heavy frost/light dusting and a snipey easterly made for good running potential.
Off we went to High Down to get out in it before crampons scarred the pristine surface. A quick sprint up Brat Tor and up to Great Links Tor which was shrouded in a sort of semi-clag with the promise of snow.
Cracking the ice on the track to the Dunna Goats we picked up the track to Dick's Well and back over to Brat Tor for the brains-out descent to the Lyd and back to the car park.
Met Office mutterings of snow early next week..........
cracking photo grommitt!
ReplyDeletemust try and slide a chilly mince in next week if poss =) niagw...
Oh yeah. There'll be plenty of chilly to mince in (hopefully)
ReplyDeleteWow. I am genuinely impressed! We looked at Dartcam and stayed away from the Moors today. Please tell me you weren't barefoot...
ReplyDeleteNot quite. I did manage to kill off my trusty Swoops (fell shoes) which split down the inside left and filled up with snow. Time to resurrect the inov8s I think.
ReplyDeletelove it! very similar topography to here..and identical weather. see the mincers are hibernating then!
ReplyDeleteWore tights and a Helly top too! Had a windproof on for about half of the run but that was back in the bag as soon as. Love the cooler weather
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture Paul, idyllic conditions. Similar around here this weekend too. Watch those Inov8s - I'm a Walsh man myself ;-p
ReplyDeleteCheers Simon.
ReplyDeleteMy feet don't get on with Walshes, but you can't fault the grip. Thinking of going for some Crosslites instead of the usual Swoops
Cool! Glad the Jocks & Geordie s are sharing some snow with us at last.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there'll be a bit left over for down here. Looks like Wednesday, now
